Can I use my NDIS funding to pay for the workshop?

Yes. If you are a self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participant and have identified working towards living with more independence as one of your NDIS goals, you can use your funding to access Lightbulb Skills programs. This will usually fall within your core or capacity building budget.

Please ask us if you have any unique circumstances to discuss.

How do I register on behalf of someone else?

When completing the registration form, please make sure you tick the box at the end to indicate that you are registering on behalf of someone else.

It’s important that you share all relevant information with the participant and ensure they understand what they are consenting to before submitting the form.

How much does each workshop cost?

The cost of each workshop varies depending on several factors, including the number of sessions, venue, content, materials provided and the level of support required to ensure the best possible experience for participants.

Workshop costs are compliant with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. They are also fully inclusive unless stated otherwise.

What happens if I can’t make my workshop?

If you are unwell or unable to attend a workshop, we will invite you to join the next available session so you can experience the content you missed.

Please note that the make-up session may be held at a different venue, depending on the schedule of upcoming workshops.

What do I need to bring to each workshop?

You don’t need to bring anything to participate. All materials and equipment required for each workshop are provided unless we inform you otherwise.

What should I wear to each workshop?

Please dress appropriately for the activity and choose clean, comfortable clothing so you can move freely and feel at ease. Specific details will be provided before your workshop begins.

For example:

In the Kitchen workshops:

  • Enclosed footwear
  • Long hair tied back or under a hat
  • Avoid dangling or hand jewellery where possible
  • Clean aprons are provided at the start of each workshop

Let’s Get Social workshops:

  • Photo ID
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Companion card
  • Preferred method of payment for meals and any discretionary purchase whilst at the workshop

What happens if my workshop is cancelled?

Workshop cancellations are rare, but if they occur, here is how we manage them:

  • If Lightbulb Skills cancels due to extenuating circumstances, you will receive a credit for the next available workshop.
  • If you cannot attend due to illness, you will be offered a credit to use at a future session.
  • If a workshop is cancelled due to Government restrictions such as COVID-19, you will receive a full refund of your deposit.

Can I bring a support worker with me?

Yes, your support worker is welcome to attend if it helps you participate more confidently. We ask that you register their attendance when booking so we can prepare appropriately.

If you would like to discuss specific support needs, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

What is your cancellation policy?

When you register for a workshop, you are committing to attend the full program to support the best possible outcomes. If you are aware in advance that you cannot attend specific dates, please discuss this with us at the time of registration – fee adjustments may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Cancellations with late notice or non-attendance (no-shows) will be charged at the full fee.
